Ami Nakazono

Saxophone

Born in Kagoshima City Japan in 1986, Ami graduated from the music department of Fukuoka Daiichi High School. She studied saxophone with Walter Beasley and others at Berklee College of Music. After graduated, she has worked as a support musician in the United States and Europe, based in New York. In 2014, she moved to Tokyo Japan and started her solo career.
In October 2015, she released the album "Make It Happen!" from VEGA Music Entertainment with Jun Abe as sound producer. In August 2016, she released the singles "She's Home" and "World Connection" for worldwide distribution. In April 2017, she had a solo live performance at Blues Alley, a long-established jazz club in Washington DC.
Her second album "The Real" was released from Space Shower Music in April 2018, and she will join Mai Kuraki's 20th Anniversary Hall Tour in 2019.
She is one of the next generation of saxophonists with a background in classical music and a sense of style honed in New York, and is active in Japan and around the world.
